I’m glad I don’t have a boy – Because this beautiful little girl is going to break quite a few hearts when she grows up. Intelligent, friendly, and sweet – and a joy to photograph.

This little 4 year old was very shy – but once he gets going, he’s definitely got spunk! This session was done next to the tree that was planted on the day he was born.

New Texture Blend Template Set On Design Aglow

June 19, 2008 | Filed Under products | Leave a Comment

My newest texture blend set is now available for sale on Design Aglow.  The set, called True Romance, is all about style and modern treatments to hip images.  I still use antique textures to give the blend that unique character that only age brings.

Check out the sets at Design Aglow!

A Gazebo and a White Dress

June 16, 2008 | Filed Under Personal | 1 Comment

This was a really enjoyable session shot just north of Helsinki in a very historic area. The white gazebo dates to 1929 and overlooks a large lake. Surprisingly, this is just a few miles away from Helsinki International Airport.

We also stopped by a village area at the head of the lake – most of the buildings dated to the 1800s.

And a blend – from a little storage shed behind a government-owned artist retreat. There was a loud rock band playing inside the building and planes flying overhead as I took this picture. It was quite loud and distracting – despite appearing so quiet and serene.

Newest Design Aglow Article Finished!

June 12, 2008 | Filed Under Personal | Leave a Comment

I am very pleased to write that I will again be contributing an article for Design Aglow Magazine. The article discusses style and, of course, has tutorials and tips on using Photoshop to enhance (not create!) personal style. But what I am most proud of is that the article will feature artists who have amazingly inspirational styles but whom aren’t as well known as the ‘rock stars’ we typically see. These artists discuss their personal style philosophy – and cover a wide range of genres from studio to environmental to photojournalistic. They are the people who inspire me greatly and I am very happy to be able to share their work with others.

I’ve just approved the proof (looks fantastic!) and look forward to seeing the article in the magazine when it is published.

The article will be in Design Aglow 5 – the Success Issue.

A Nine Year Old in a Pirates Costume

June 10, 2008 | Filed Under Personal | Leave a Comment

This is Emma modeling her Elizabeth Swan dress from the Pirates of the Caribbean movie.

I did an artistic blend for this image – it just cried out for a golden touch.

This is the pose she thought of herself – perhaps an Ophelia inspiration?
