0Winter always means plenty of studio work.
This shoot featured a vintage 1930s era bias cut velvet dress with a long train, a vintage head piece, and even vintage shoes correct to the era purchased from a great store across the street from Paramount Studios in Los Angeles.
Modeling the ensemble is Angel Goa and make up/hair ably done by Anu Hämäläinen at sostylish.net.
2It took half the Winter, but we finally saw snowfall here in Helsinki.
The light and scenery is so exquisite this time of year. Soft and light and lovely. We’re fortunate to have a mild Winter – not too cold for tea parties with friends!
0I’ve just started to go through this session, for fashion designer Basia Malinowska. How can you not love anything shot in New York City, especially with a beautiful model in Summer linen?
3Photographing the children of other professional photographers can be a very mixed bag. Most of those children are hounded with a camera from the moment they are born and they would rather do anything than have to take more pictures.
But these two lovely ladies were different. Both daughters of respected and prominent Columbus area photographers Gwen Z Photography and Elizabeth Esthi Photography, these girls were out to have fun and play and even pose!
I don’t think a midday full sun shoot could get any more fantastic than this – they were such a treat and it was a pleasure to shoot alongside professionals that day.
We used two locations that day: a farm (with beautiful rustic old barn) and a field of naturally growing wildflowers. My vision for the shoot was pure Summer joy: all the things that make Summer in Ohio a magical time full of warm magical memories.

5I am really loving the depth and profusion of the anenome (valkovuokko) this year! The weather conditions were perfect and areas have whole fields of these lovely and beautiful little white flowers. Although a late shoot caused the flowers to be mostly closed, the wonderful light at this time of the year made it all worth it.
