0I will be returning this year as a speaker at WPPI 2012, the premier industry event for wedding and portrait photographers. Last year, colleague Melody Hood and I gave a Masterclass on location photography. The class was the first to sell out on the entire Master Class roster.
This year, we will be presenting a Platform Class – the most prestigious speaker engagement at the convention. The Platform Classes are open to all attendees but do tend to book up with advance registrations – make sure to get in early!
Come join us at WPPI 2012 – we’re proudly sponsored by Pixel 2 Canvas – a photography vendor we both trust and respect.
1One of my greatest joys as a photographer is being able to create vacation photos that inspire me. Here, in the beautiful Cape Cod village of Falmouth, a cool June evening tells the story of our vacation by the ocean this year.

0Visitors at the 2012 Kids Fair in Helsinki could see my commercial photography blown up quite large. In these images: the tinttu.com booth.

And some of the handouts using my commercial work:

1I greatly welcomed a bohemian themed shoot in the awakening Finnish forest this weekend. There is only scattered snow in shaded areas left and the blueberry bushes are just starting to bud and open.

0I was very pleased to shoot this family again in Las Vegas. We had to time it around my Masterclass at the big WPPI convention but were fortunate to find a great time later in the evening.
I found a great location in the Center of the City – just a block from the end of a McCarran International airport runway. We found a great feature wall perfect for a portrait.

3Before heading off to Las Vegas and Boston, I was fortunate enough to be asked to do a small private workshop in SouthWest Florida. Here is a sneak peek from two of the sessions.

0I really like to break out of the norms and bring modern and edgy lighting to my senior (graduation) portraits. In this case, I had a teen from the High School football team that wanted something unique and interesting – not the same old graduation cap and holding a rose type of portrait.
I used very a modern 3-light type of set up for these two – they are actually the sweetest of people but we wanted to give them much more raw energy in their portraits. I think they accomplished the goal!

He had some great tattoos!

2It took half the Winter, but we finally saw snowfall here in Helsinki.
The light and scenery is so exquisite this time of year. Soft and light and lovely. We’re fortunate to have a mild Winter – not too cold for tea parties with friends!

2This little girl was sooo sweet! And a beautiful family to boot. A great way to spend an unseasonably warm Autumn in Boston!

0I had a special request for this session: add in some sweet soft vintage to the regular mix of proofs. And I have to admit, when a family has this much love, it is very easy to be a photographer!
