0Tinttu.com and I first contracted several years ago to photograph their product lines. I absolutely adore their childrens clothing – designed by the very talented Petronella Grahn. All of the clothing has such a distinct foothold in the folklore and history of Finland, its forest, and its epic poems. Friendly trolls and witches, whimsical fairies, and sweet woodland creatures. It’s a beautiful reminder for us not to lose that joy and wonder of childhood.
If you’ve never seen Petrenella’s work, I encourage you to explore tinttu.com!

3Part of the joy of the Vappu holiday in Finland is being able to dress up and welcome Spring in unique ways. Summer is now truly around the corner in this part of the world.

5There were so many wonderful places to photograph there that I have to break this into two posts!
This first group was taken around the greater Sammatti region, in and around the TurunVäylä.

And a “HiidenKirnu” – Troll’s Churn.
