I took a trip up to Hameenlinna this week to photograph this brother and sister team. We even captured some magical images in the crisp snow after the indoor shots. There’s something spectacular about January – cold but beautiful! Here’s a sneak peek!

It is melting fast – these are the last of the Winter pictures now that the snow has just left in the last few days. Welcome to Spring, Helsinki!
These two were a lovely couple and brought their sweet family to be photographed on a crisp Winter day. But I couldn’t let them go without a quick shot without the kids. I can’t wait to return and finish processing their family shots!
We’ve had a warm spell for a week – but not enough to melt the hard ice in the lakes, fortunately.
These were shot around Fagervik and Snappertuna area. It was -4 but the cold crisp Winter makes for very distinctly Finnish images. Most of these are supplemented with flash to compensate for that soft but weak December light.
We’ll lose this Winter wonderland in a few short days as the weather warms up a bit. But January and February should be excellent for snow shots this year. Until then, I will enjoy our early Winter snow.
