Commercial Work: Unstoppable Gorg!

In November, I was hired to create the promo and cut scenes for the computer game Unstoppable Gorg.  The game was released this week to great reviews – available on the Ipad/iphone and on your Mac/PC. The brief for the contract was to find and cast models and create a very vintage 1950s science fiction… Read More

Desert Vintage

We were fortunate to work with a great sponsor for the Las Vegas Workshop – canvas gurus Pixel2Canvas.  They put us in contact with a great model, Kayluh, for our shoot in the outskirts of town.  Anytime I can photograph a beautiful model at a location with an abandoned mining operation, ghost town, and plane… Read More

My Love of Finland – If I Could Design A Postcard…

Today, I thought it would be fun to do a shoot that really showed just how beautiful Finland is in Winter.  If I could design a postcard of an amazing Winter wonderland, then these are what I’d submit as the artwork. Presenting a 9 year old Finnish girl, her reindeer, a book on antique Finnish… Read More

Soft and Vintage

I had a special request for this session: add in some sweet soft vintage to the regular mix of proofs.   And I have to admit, when a family has this much love, it is very easy to be a photographer!

Endless Blue and White

There is a reason the national flag of Finland is blue and white – and never is that more evident than along the Baltic coastline. Here, model Heidi Moijanen is wearing a 60 year old Japanese wedding kimono (shiromoku) at a stretch of beach outside of Helsinki.  Hair and makeup was done by Cemille Nismetdin… Read More

A Bit of Soft Nostalgia

This was an inspiring session in the outskirts of St. Louis.  Our model is wearing a dress her grandmother wore to the prom in 1951 and make up/hair artist Marla Lebish recreated the look and feel of the era perfectly.  Logistician extraoardinaire and fellow photographer Robin Orvis even managed to find a sweetly restored 1951… Read More

A Bit of Nostalgia: Her Mother’s Wedding Dress

This was a special session with model Heidi Moijanen and assisted by make up artist Cemille Nismetdin.  She is wearing her mother’s hand sewn wedding dress – a sweet bit of vintage and a special present for her family. When Heidi contacted me about doing the shoot, I was very eager. She was looking for… Read More

Updating a Modeling Portfolio

These images are of the lovely model Elyon.   She braved the late Finnish Summer sun (11:00 pm) for wonderful shots at sunset.  I tried to give her a variety of styles to show her versatility.  All clothing in these shoots are antique (1890s) or vintage (1960s), from the shoes to the bustle cage under the… Read More
