We photographed Emma near her grandmother’s house in Espoo this weekend. It was a beautiful Spring day – full of warm and wonderful sunshine even if the snow has far from melted.

With such a beautiful family, I couldn’t resist taking them out to my favorite lake. And although it is the first day of Spring, that lake looks like it will br frozen solid for several more weeks. It was great to be able to do a maternity again! Here’s your sneak peak, P and M!

We’ll lose this Winter wonderland in a few short days as the weather warms up a bit. But January and February should be excellent for snow shots this year. Until then, I will enjoy our early Winter snow.
Every now and then, I like to return to my film roots and go for the deep tones again. These were all shot with streetlights my only light source.
I LOVE taking portraits in the snow. I wish more people wanted their pictures done this time of the year – so very Finnish and so incredibly beautiful and pure looking.
