This was a special session with model Heidi Moijanen and assisted by make up artist Cemille Nismetdin. She is wearing her mother’s hand sewn wedding dress – a sweet bit of vintage and a special present for her family. After the sun had set, we were able to get this last image: And from earlier… Read More

Updating the portfolio of actor/model Jordan James. We went for a variety of expressions to show his range. A great guy to work with and I wish him the greatest success!
With special thanks to Kinga who braved ice cold waters for this shoot.
This was a very enjoyable shoot with model Molla Mills. She effortlessly captured the 1930s vamp from whom all good wives hid their husbands. Molla is modeling an authentic 1937 silk “Liquid Midnight” dress. Hair and makeup was done by professional make up artist Lotta Eloranta with additional styling by Molla herself. And I had… Read More
Here are the rest of the images from the Bridal Boutique commercial shoot in Tennessee with Melody Hood of Inammorata photography. I look forward to seeing the ads they make from these images.
Another from a recent commercial session with fellow photographer Melody Hood of Inammorata Photography.
When Gary asked me to do his promo pictures, he described his music as being very blue-collar in the vein of Springsteen. I knew immediately the perfect location: a factory on the outskirts of town. Unfortunately for us, it began to snow quite heavily and was cold – -12. But Gary was a trooper and… Read More
I am pleased to once again be published in Design Aglow Magazine. In issue 10, I have written an article on giving your images personality and uniqueness through simple color adjustments. You can find the magazine online at designaglow.com. Excerpt from my article:
Images from my session with model Hanna Kyyrö. Make up and styling by the extremely talented Lotta Eloranta.
Most would consider the numerous paper factories of SouthEastern Finland to be a blot on the horizon. But with the help of a few lights, a very talented make up artist, and a two lovely models, it can become a whole new world. From a shoot fairly close to the Finno-Russo border. This is the… Read More
I was pleased to work with the lovely model Heidi for a vintage clothing shoot. The first session she modeled a 1974 Bernard Freres shantung silk couture dress in the Chinoisiere style. She also modeled a 1964 Myer Kahan mod-style dinner suit.
As I get acclimated back to Finnish time, I can’t wait to go through all the images from the shoots in Australia. Here are some more favorites as I continue to go through my cards:
I have been a part of an amazing set of sessions here – maternity on the Jersey shore, a bridal session on top of an iron bridge spanning the Delaware, teens in vintage 1960s trains… I LOVE my work! And a big thanks to Amy Ortiz of Saje Photography for her wonderful hospitality during my… Read More
These images are of the lovely model Elyon. She braved the late Finnish Summer sun (11:00 pm) for wonderful shots at sunset. I tried to give her a variety of styles to show her versatility. All clothing in these shoots are antique (1890s) or vintage (1960s), from the shoes to the bustle cage under the… Read More
I am very proud to announce an exhibit of my work during the month of April in the Kamera Magazine Gallery in downtown Helsinki. The exhibition is named Mise en Scene: Location Portraiture and is a study on harmonizing portraits within the uniquely Finnish environment. A select number of landscapes will also be displayed. Reception… Read More
You’d think I’d shoot more nature or landscapes considering how much I love color. But the truth is, all my equipment is uniquely suited for portraiture – and I wouldn’t change that even for a chance to do better nature shots!
She was a pleasure to work with – exuberant and able to really bring emotion and zeal to her images. Here are a few of my favorites from this model. The objective of Ainsley’s shoot was to create very commercial images (as opposed to the more editorial high fashion look). Editorial shots tend to be… Read More
Two images from the session! David was a great model – he brought a lot to the shoot and was full of interesting ideas for stunning shots. It’s a pleasure to shoot when the photographer and model work collaboratively.
