Catching the rare cloudless sunset

The good thing about cloudless days in Winter is that I can catch all that beautiful dramatic color of the sunset.  The bad thing is that it means the temperature will have dropped severely without the cloud cover to keep the warmth on the Earth.  But one to two days is just fine with me!

Dusk In Kirkkonummi

A break in the rain this afternoon meant a lovely sunset for once – even if it is at 3:30 in the afternoon.  These were all shot around various lakes in Kirkkonummi.

Before the Snow Melts

We’ll lose this Winter wonderland in a few short days as the weather warms up a bit.  But January and February should be excellent for snow shots this year.  Until then, I will enjoy our early Winter snow.

Every now and then, I like to return to my film roots and go for the deep tones again.  These were all shot with streetlights my only light source.

I LOVE taking portraits in the snow.  I wish more people wanted their pictures done this time of the year – so very Finnish and so incredibly beautiful and pure looking.
